Job summary

Municipality of Anchorage is seeking an IT professional to install, monitor, and maintain telecommunications and data systems at City Hall. You will configure network and telephone switches, manage cabling, and coordinate with vendors to deploy new services.

Qualified candidates will have 7+ years in computer technology, a related degree, and the ability to pass a CJIS background check within 30 days of hire. Alaska driver’s license and secure access will be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degrees preferred.
• 7+ years in computer technology, network hardware, and/or information systems.
• CJIS background check within 30 days of hire is required.
• Valid Alaska driver’s license with satisfactory driving record at hire.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, operate, repair, document, and maintain telecommunications and data equipment and cabling.
• Program and configure data network switches, telephone switches, and related systems.
• Relocate equipment to meet customer needs and test cables for performance.
• Coordinate telecom and data services with vendors and monitor contractor activities.
• Support NG911 and related call recording, paging, and security requirements.
