Job summary

Point72 Asset Management, L.P. is seeking a senior network leader to drive the architecture and operation of our collocated trading networks and WAN connectivity.

You will shape ultra-low-latency fabrics, supervise latency and timing systems, and guide engineers across a global team to enable rapid, reliable market data delivery for trading strategies. The role requires deep expertise in BGP, WAN, and secure connectivity, with a proven track record in high-performance, latency-sensitive

Qualifications

• Significant experience with production trading network infrastructure in colocation environments.
• Deep expertise in BGP and IP routing across WAN/extranet for latency-sensitive trading.
• Design knowledge for low-latency data center fabrics (layer 2/3).
• Experience with load balancers, firewalls, segmentation for trading infra.
• Hands-on multicast market data distribution and reliable feed delivery.
• Experience with optical transport, DWDM, and colocation cross-connects.

What you’ll do

• Lead a specialized global network team that owns the critical path between trading strategies and markets across collocated sites and inter-site connectivity
• Own the architectural roadmap for the collocated trading environment and wide area network (WAN) connecting exchange sites, proximity data centers, venues, brokers, and data providers
• Design and operate ultra-low-latency network fabrics, including layer 1 topologies, optical transport, structured cabling, patching strategy, and capacity planning
• Evaluate, procure, validate, and monitor inter-site circuits to ensure route latency, stability, resilience, and performance meet production trading requirements
• Manage BGP, IP routing, load balancing, firewall, and segmentation architecture across the WAN and extranet connectivity protecting the trading estate
• Own end-to‑end market data connectivity, including multicast and unicast feed delivery, gap and loss analysis, arbitration paths, and line‑rate reliability
• Lead venue and broker connectivity onboarding for order entry, including gateway sessions, conformance, certification, and operational readiness for new launches
• Own network latency and quality monitoring, packet capture, precision timing, and telemetry capabilities that provide evidence‑based answers about network performance
• Drive automation for network changes, validations, venue onboarding, compliance checks, diagnostics, and safer change execution using modern automation and approaches assisted by artificial intelligence
• Develop engineers, set operational standards, manage vendor and colocation relationships, and communicate architectural decisions and incident findings to senior stakeholders

What’s required

• Significant experience at a buy‑side or sell‑side financial firm directly responsible for production trading network infrastructure in colocation environments
• Deep expertise in BGP and IP routing across wide area network (WAN) and extranet environments supporting latency‑sensitive trading connectivity
• Demonstrated experience with layer 2 and layer 3 design for low‑latency data center fabrics
• Strong knowledge of load balancer and firewall platforms, segmentation architecture, and secure connectivity patterns for trading infrastructure
• Hands‑on experience with multicast market data distribution, troubleshooting, gap and loss analysis, and reliable line‑rate feed delivery
• Practical experience with layer 1 mux and tap, switching, optical transport, DWDM, and colocation cross‑connect management
• Working knowledge of precision time synchronization, hardware timestamping, packet capture, and packet analysis at line rate
• Hands‑on experience with network platforms used in latency‑sensitive environments and familiarity with kernel bypass and low‑latency host networking concepts
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers, either as a people manager or senior technical lead accountable for the work of others

The annual base salary range for this role is $250,000-$350,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
