Job summary

Genuine Parts Company seeks an experienced Network Systems Specialist to support and maintain enterprise network and telecommunications infrastructure across locations. You will help ensure performance, availability, and security while coordinating with IT teams and vendors.

The role requires strong network admin skills, troubleshooting, and effective communication, with after-hours on-call rotations as needed. Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3–5 years of experience supporting enterprise network and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting Cisco and Fortinet network technologies.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Routing and Switching, VLANs, VPN technologies, wireless networking, and network monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Support, monitor, and maintain enterprise-wide wired and wireless network infrastructure.
• Manage network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and telecommunications equipment.
• Troubleshoot network performance issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and external service providers.
• Administer WAN, LAN, VPN, SD-WAN, and voice communication systems.
• Coordinate vendor activities related to installations, outages, and service escalations.
• Provide Tier II support for network and telecommunications incidents and service requests.

Network Systems Specialist

Position Summary

Motion is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Systems Specialist to support and maintain enterprise network and telecommunications infrastructure across multiple locations. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of network systems while partnering with internal stakeholders, vendors, and IT teams to deliver reliable connectivity and communication services.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in network administration, telecommunications, troubleshooting, and infrastructure support, along with excellent communication and project coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Support, monitor, and maintain enterprise-wide wired and wireless network infrastructure.
• Manage network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and telecommunications equipment.
• Troubleshoot network performance issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and external service providers.
• Administer WAN, LAN, VPN, SD-WAN, and voice communication systems.
• Manage telecommunications services, circuits, carrier relationships, and service requests.
• Participate in network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Monitor network security and assist with implementing corporate security standards and best practices.
• Maintain accurate network documentation, inventories, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Coordinate vendor activities related to installations, outages, and service escalations.
• Provide Tier II support for network and telecommunications incidents and service requests.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance activities and on-call support rotations as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience supporting enterprise network and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting Cisco and Fortinet network technologies.
• Working knowledge of:

  • VPN technologies

• Experience troubleshooting network connectivity and telecommunications issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multi-site or global network environments.
• Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies.
• Familiarity with telecommunications expense management (TEM) platforms and carrier services.
• Industry certifications such as:
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP
  • Fortinet FCP/NSE certifications
  • CompTIA Network+
• Experience with voice and collaboration platforms including Microsoft Teams Phone.
