Job summary

SidRam Technologies in Reno, NV seeks a senior Network/Systems Specialist to support a customer data center deployment across three data hall modules. You will oversee cabling quality, lead field configuration and troubleshooting, and provide technical direction to installation technicians.

The role requires 5+ years in data center networking, hands-on IPMI/BMC and BIOS configuration, and strong L1/physical-layer troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hands-on data center networking and systems experience.
• Strong knowledge of data center switching and cabling.
• Experience with fiber optic and Cat6a copper cabling.
• Hands-on IPMI/BMC and server BIOS configuration.
• Strong L1/physical-layer troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read elevation drawings, patching matrices, and network topology diagrams.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Must be onsite full-time in Reno, NV.

Responsibilities

• Review patching matrices, elevation drawings, cable routing, slack, fiber handling, and management connections.
• Oversee SM fiber, Cat6a copper, and breakout fiber cabling across three modules.
• Perform IPMI/BMC configuration and BIOS validation on compute nodes.
• Lead L1/physical-layer troubleshooting and smart-hands network support.
• Provide technical direction to installation technicians.
• Support device smoke testing and configuration validation.
• Coordinate RMA activities and asset documentation.
• Participate in daily standups, quality reviews, and burndown reporting.
• Escalate issues and blockers to the Site Lead.

Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Review patching matrices, elevation drawings, cable routing, slack, fiber handling, and management connections.
• Oversee SM fiber, Cat6a copper, and breakout fiber cabling across three modules.
