Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Systems Engineer to support a large-scale government enterprise network at Pearl Harbor, HI. This onsite role requires Tier III expertise to resolve complex network challenges and sustain mission-critical operations across LAN/WAN/WLAN, routing, switching, and security.

The position offers heavy engagement with DISA STIGs, on-call maintenance, and travel up to 10%. Active Secret Clearance is required; 100% onsite duty located at Pearl Harbor.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in network engineering within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong experience designing, supporting, and troubleshooting BAN, LAN, WAN, and LAN environments, including network boundary infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with routing, switching, SD-WAN, VPNs, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, multicast technologies.
• Experience serving as Tier III escalation resource for complex network incidents and advanced technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and engineer routers, switches, VLANs, wireless infrastructure, firewalls, network sensors, and boundary systems.
• Serve as the Tier III escalation resource and technical SME for routing, switching, SD-WAN, WLAN, MPLS, VPNs, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and multicast.
• Develop Engineering Implementation Plans and change documentation for network deployments, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis, maintain configuration baselines, and support compliance with DISA STIGs and cybersecurity policies.
• Validate firmware, configuration changes, and security patches in lab and pre-production environments.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams and participate in Agile/SAFe planning and technical demonstrations.

• Hands-on expertise troubleshooting routing, switching, SD-WAN, WLAN, MPLS, VPNs, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, switching protocols, and multicast technologies.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and perform off-hours maintenance activities as required.
• Travel: Up to 10%

Compensation for the Network Engineer includes:

• Salary: Approximately $100,000-$104,000 Depending on Experience
