Overview

Job Position: Network Support Engineer.

Location: The majority of the work will be at OVAMC, 13800 Veterans Way, Orlando, FL 32827.

Job Type: Full Time

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Network Management: Designing, configuring, and maintaining LAN (wired and wireless), IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, and Ether-Channel/Bonding. Manage multi-site network operations, enterprise network architecture, routing (including VRFs), and interconnections between all OVAHCS locations.
• Industrial Control Network (ICN) Specialization: Lead design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the ICN. Manage ICN IP space, coordinate new system installs, provide SME support on the 6550 process, and support ICN-connected systems like CCTV, AMAG, Metasys (JCI), and storage devices, including migrating JCI equipment to VA OIT.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Proactively monitor and troubleshoot network hardware, software, IP phones, and security systems to resolve issues and restore services. Respond to ICN inquiries from diverse stakeholders.
• Project Management & Documentation: Lead network projects, develop project plans for migrations, coordinate MAC (Moves, Adds, Changes) related to ICN equipment, and maintain thorough technical documentation for ICN and telecommunication room configurations.
• Security & Compliance: Maintain understanding of internet basics (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing), ensure secured access for wireless networks, and support CCTV and Access Control Systems hardware and software.
