Job summary

Computer World Services is seeking a Network Specialist to oversee installation, configuration, testing, monitoring, and activation of DoD network projects. You will work with customers, architects, and vendor SMEs to implement changes and ensure DISA standards are met.

Responsibilities include managing service orders, coordinating TSOs, and validating configurations with DISN databases. On-site role with required DoD clearance and DoD SECRET eligibility.

Qualifications

• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE) is required.
• BS degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Experience with DISA systems, processes, TSRs/TSOs and related documents.
• Experience with SharePoint data entry and data management.
• Experience performing customer outreach and service coordination.
• Knowledge of DISA Request Fulfillment process and associated documents.
• Basic understanding of DoD policies and hierarchy and DISA organizational structure.
• Active DoD SECRET is required with ability to obtain DoD Top Secret.

Job description

The Network Specialist will perform installation oversight, configuration, testing, monitoring, servicing of network equipment and activation of networks for projects supporting the Department of Defense networks.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer coordination, Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), execution of all reporting functions, and complete data input associated with new service activations to ensure they are implemented in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) standards


• Work directly with customers, solution architects and vendor SMEs to implement changes and also identify, analyze, and resolve issues.


• Manage Service Orders, in accordance with Change Management procedures


• Ensure Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs) are in place and accurate for scheduled network additions and changes


• Initiate network device configurations using configlets


• Analyze DISN and databases to validate and implement customer requirements


• Design and implement solutions to highly technical problems through testing, documentation and modification of configurations on network devices


• Coordinate and program customer circuit activation with commercial vendors to establish the engineered solution for end-to-end connectivity


• Perform network monitoring to assess if deployed changes have caused impacts to customer traffic using provided expectations of traffic behavior, lessons learned, and customer reporting


• Utilize systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional requirements in support of customer resources.


• Engage with the DISA project managers and/or customers to resolve issues with incomplete or unclear requirements.


• Reach out to stakeholders and facilitate approvals as necessary to ensure continual forward progress of the service request.

Qualifications

• BS degree and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.)


• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent)


• Prior experience at DISA, or knowledge of DISA systems and processes.


• Prior experience with SharePoint data entry.


• Experience performing customer outreach.


• Experience with DISA Request Fulfillment process and associate documents (TSRs, TSOs, completion reports) and circulars experience.


• Basic understanding of Department of Defense, its policies, and hierarchy.


• Basic understanding of DISA organizational structure and how different elements (DITCO, etc.) contribute to fulfilling mission partner TSR requirements.


• Network certifications: Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.), Microsoft certifications (MCSE, etc.), security certifications (Security + CE, CISSP, etc.)- ITIL certification.


• Active DoD SECRET is required with ability to obtain DoD Top Secret


• Position is on site at Government facility. Remote work is not available.
