Job summary

Responsibilities

• Fulfill tasks from several departments.
• Learn internal software systems.
• Support Network Solutions in maintaining hardware, software, and other systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support for customer managed services and projects.
• Provide backup technical support for the network including router, firewall, and wireless access points.
• Troubleshoot printers, scanners and other peripherals.
• Learn plantwide Ethernet concepts and deployment as required.
• Learn OT vs IT requirements and plant floor vs IT considerations.
• Gain knowledge of Cisco OS, cloud computing, web services, and remote access solutions.
• Respond promptly to inquiries via telephone and email.
• Create and update training materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Timeline and Expectations

Werner will be posting the internship positions starting in late September which will run through the end of November. We will be selecting candidates to move forward with from HR phone screen to virtual hiring manager interview during this time.

Job Summary

This internship offers practical work experience, an introduction to Enterprise managed IT, Industrial networking and an opportunity to gain experience with the technical support services. This internship will involve challenging opportunities, real technical projects, and interaction with a verity of customer networks and applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Fulfill tasks set out by supervisors from several departments.
• Learns and becomes proficient on internal software systems.
• Support the Network Solutions team in maintaining customer hardware, software, and other systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support for customer managed services and projects.
• Provide backup technical support for network including router, firewall, and wireless access points.
• Troubleshoot equipment such as printers and scanners and other peripherals
• Learn the principles outlined in the Cisco/Rockwell/Panduit Converged Plantwide Ethernet guide, the candidate will design, configure, deploy and troubleshoot plant floor network topologies as required.
• Learn the unique requirements of the OT space (plant floor) as compared to IT (Enterprise).
• Gain a thorough knowledge of Cisco operating systems, cloud computing, web services, physical infrastructure and remote access solutions.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer and sales force inquiries via telephone and email.
• Create and update training materials on a regular basis.
• Other duties as assigned.
