Grand Rapids Tech is seeking a Network & Security Installs Technician I in Grand Rapids, MI. The role focuses on installing and maintaining security cameras, access control systems, and computer networks across Michigan.

You will work with surveillance cameras, networking equipment, and cabling, traveling to job sites and documenting time and materials. A solid foundation in hardware, troubleshooting, and cybersecurity basics is expected.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience as a network installation technician or related role
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP, and network technologies
• Hands-on experience with common software and hardware
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Ability to lift over 75 lbs

We are adding an experienced network and security installation technician to our team. This technician would be responsible for installing and maintaining security cameras, access control systems, and computer networks. They would commonly work with surveillance cameras, monitors, recording devices, networking equipment, ethernet cable, fiber optic cable, and other related hardware.

Responsibilities

• Network, security camera, and access control system installation and configuration
• Installation of ethernet, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling
• Diagnose and repair security systems and networks
• Record keeping and daily explanation of time and materials
• Managing and organizing new and existing network infrastructure
• Driving to and from job sites
• Reading and interpreting floor plans and prints

• 1 plus year(s) experience as a network installation technician, lowvoltage installer, security camera technician, or relevant position
• Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols, and network technologies
• Hands-on experience with common software and hardware
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift over 75 lbs
• Ability to use power tools and ladders

Compensation

• Starting at $18 – $20/hour depending on experience
• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Performancereviews and raises every 6 months
• Quarterly profit-sharing bonuses after 6 months
