Job summary

Cerebras Systems is seeking a Network Security Engineer to design, build, and operate robust network security controls across data centers, cloud environments, and corporate infrastructure. You will own firewall, segmentation, and ZTNA lifecycle, turning policy into automated infrastructure and partnering with Network Engineering, IT, and Security Operations.

The role requires hands-on security depth, an automation-first mindset, and the ability to work across enterprise, data center, and cloud

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in computer science.
• Expertise with firewalls, policy design, automation, and operations.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible) and scripting (Python).
• Hands-on experience operating network controls in a major cloud environment (AWS), including VPCs, transit gateways, security groups.
• Understanding of ZTNA, segmentation, and modern network access patterns.
• Solid TCP/IP fundamentals, routing, switching, DNS, and TLS; troubleshooting across the stack.
• Excellent written communication; able to document runbooks clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate firewall, segmentation, and zero-trust controls across data center, corporate, and cloud networks (AWS).
• Build and maintain network security infrastructure as code—firewall rules, policy automation, and CI/CD-driven deployment.
• Lead network lifecycle management: design review, configuration baselines, change automation, and ongoing rule hygiene.
• Build detection capabilities for network-based attacker behaviors and collaborate with Detection & Response teams.
• Implement and operate network access controls including ZTNA, VPN, and remote access patterns.
• Drive periodic firewall rule reviews, segmentation audits, and remediation campaigns to reduce risk.
• Document network security architecture, controls, and procedures in runbooks.
