Job summary

Harvey Nash is seeking a Sr. Network & Firewall Security Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize Palo Alto firewalls across enterprise offices and data centers.

The role emphasizes hands-on security, routing and switching know-how, and advanced troubleshooting of complex network issues. You will lead or support firewall migrations and secure architecture initiatives while collaborating with Network and Security teams to ensure secure, highly available connectivity in on-prem and hybrid

Qualifications

• Hands-on design, deployment and optimization of Palo Alto firewalls in enterprise settings.
• Strong networking background in routing and switching.
• Experience troubleshooting BGP, OSPF, NAT, TCP/IP and traffic analysis.
• Lead or support firewall migrations and secure architecture initiatives.
• Automation scripting or API-based tooling experience is a plus.

Job description

Title: Sr. Network & Firewall Security Engineer

Job Type: Full time/ direct hire

• Design, deploy, migrate, and optimize Palo Alto firewalls across enterprise offices and data centers, with strong hands-on experience in Panorama, security policies, SSL decryption, and security profiles.
• Provide hands-on support for network security and infrastructure, with a strong security focus and solid working knowledge of routing and switching.
• Troubleshoot complex connectivity and security issues involving BGP, OSPF, routing, switching, NAT, TCP/IP, traffic flows, and packet-level analysis.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for Tier 2/Tier 3 firewall and network issues, using Palo Alto CLI and other troubleshooting tools to identify and resolve complex problems.
• Lead or support firewall migrations, network security implementations, segmentation, and secure architecture initiatives across large enterprise environments.
• Partner with Network, Cloud, Infrastructure, and Security teams to build and maintain secure, highly available connectivity across on-premises and hybrid environments.
• Analyze and improve security policies, traffic flows, access controls, and network architecture to strengthen the organization’s security posture, reliability, and performance.
• Support security operations and incident response by investigating issues related to firewall policy enforcement, routing, NAT, application connectivity, and network behavior.
• Mentor junior engineers and NOC teams on networking fundamentals, firewall technologies, structured troubleshooting, and operational best practices.
• Use scripting/API-based automation to improve network security operations; experience supporting financial services, trading, banking, or other highly regulated/high-availability environments is highly desirable.

A reasonable, good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum annual salary for this position is $160,000 to $180,000 with full benefits and bonus.
