Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. in Berwyn, PA seeks a Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and support security services across firewalls, DMZs, VPN/ZTNA, and remote access.

You will work with senior engineers and IT teams to deliver secure, reliable connectivity aligned with business objectives and security standards. You will provide Tier 3 incident resolution, performance and capacity planning, and lifecycle management, while coordinating vendor relationships and technology refresh programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant technical or business field.
• 5–8 years of enterprise network security experience focusing on firewalls, DMZ, VPN, and partner connections.
• Understanding IT infrastructure lifecycle: architecture, design, and operations.
• Experience in a regulated global manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Reporting to the Network Operations Leader, the Network Security Engineer provides engineering and operational support for the company's network security infrastructure, including firewalls, DMZ environments, partner connectivity, VPN/ZTNA solutions, and remote access services. The position assists with the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of network security technologies to ensure secure, reliable, and cost-effective connectivity across the enterprise.

In this role you will work closely with senior engineers, architects, and cross-functional IT teams to support network security projects, evaluate new technologies, and help deliver solutions aligned with business objectives and established security standards. Additionally, this position assists operational teams with troubleshooting and escalation support for complex network security issues while continuing to develop technical expertise in enterprise network security technologies.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Network Security Engineering & Architecture

• Design and implement network security solutions.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical or business field

Experience

• 5-8 years of enterprise network security experience in relevant platforms, technologies and services with a focus on Firewalls, DMZ, VPN, Partner connections, etc.
• Clear understanding of IT Infrastructure lifecycle: Architecture, Design and Operations. Working knowledge of all areas of IT Infrastructure.
• Diverse technical team experience and working with cross-functional teams
• Experience in a regulated global environment, preferably in manufacturing, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision‑making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI‑generated outputs.

Technical Experience

• Managing Load Balancer Platforms (Preferred)
