Job summary

PEAKE is seeking a Network Infrastructure Installation Technician to join our Augusta, GA team. You will install CAT6 and fiber cabling, terminate and test copper and fiber runs, and ensure compliance with safety and DISA procedures. This role requires active DoD clearance and 3+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance or higher required.
• 3+ years of relevant cabling experience.
• Direct related experience in cabling and construction trades.
• Security+ preferred but not required.
• Fiber optic specialist with testing experience (Fiber characterization helpful).
• Able to safely follow safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install CAT6 and fiber optic cabling and distribution system.
• Terminate Ethernet and fiber; test with fiber tools and troubleshoot.
• Perform fiber characterization testing and resolve issues.
• Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber cabling.
• Install closet hardware: backboards, racks, patch panels, fiber enclosures.
• Attend training and safety meetings; maintain safe work practices.
• Follow DISA installation procedures and guidelines (NIPR/SIPR/JWICS/Centrix).

Active DoW Secret clearance or higher is required.

PositionResponsibilities

• CAT 6 and Fiber Optic structured cable distribution system installation.
• Ability to terminate all forms of Ethernet and fiber by various methods, familiarity with connector types and manufacturers, experience testing single-mode and multi-mode fiber installations, experience with Fluke and OTDR testing and fiber optic troubleshooting, pulling cable, fire stopping, dressing cables, and labeling to industry standards.
• Experience with Fiber Characterization testing and resolution
• Installing, terminating, and testing all forms of copper and fiber cabling.
• Installing closet hardware, including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels, and fiber enclosures.
• Attending training and safety meetings, and working safely at all times
• Familiarity with DISA installation procedures and operational guidelines (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, Centrix)
  

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance or higher
  
• 3+ years relevant experience
• Direct related experience (cabling, construction trades).
• Security+ preferred but not required
• Proven experience as a fiber optic specialist, BICSI Installer/Technician certification a plus.
  
• Must be able to work safely following the company's policy/procedures on safety.
• Conduct network configuration and be able to perform network troubleshooting.
• Previous duties as team lead
• Must be capable of physical activity, including maneuvering around the building, including comms closets, prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting of 50lbs +.
• Applicable software or hardware training and certifications commensurate with the technical objectives, services required, and IT environment are a plus
