Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Oregon is seeking a Network Install Technician to move and install enterprise equipment, cabling, and test equipment across data centers. You'll work with a diverse team of engineers and operations staff, travel as needed, and adhere to safety standards while delivering reliable network infrastructure.

Relocation assistance is available. This role requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, 24/7 operational exposure, and willingness to work at multiple sites

Qualifications

• Experience with copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
• 18+ months of experience in data center or critical environment.
• 18+ months of experience with network cabling and test equipment (VFL, power meter, OTDR)

Network Install Technicians will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, troubleshoot complex technical scenarios, and implement strategic solutions that keep our network running seamlessly. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Key Job Responsibilities

Physical Requirements

• All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
• Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed
• Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
• Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
• This role supports data centers in various operational stages. The position may be assigned to a facility still under development, which could require travel to established locations for training until your designated site becomes fully operational.

Essential Requirements

• Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed
• Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational
• Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility
• Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers
• 18+ months of experience in data center or critical environment or similar technical roles: Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations
• 18+ months of experience with network cabling, optic types, and test equipment (VFL, power meter, OTDR, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a data center or other critical environment
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g. computer science, network engineering, etc.)
• Certifications in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA)
• Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
