Job description

Role Overview

As a Network Engineer on our team, you’ll have the chance to shape Navy missions by leading engineering efforts to develop, operate, and maintain complex technology systems using engineering principles, theories, and concepts. Your customer will trust you to not only design and develop these systems, but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions. You will broaden your skill set into areas such as defining the architecture and engineering solutions, merging operational Navy experience and network design to create complex system architectures.

What You'll Work On
  • Translate complex business requirements and align the appropriate solution to support business needs.
  • Take accountability for architecture, planning, design, and verification activities to create production‑ready configurations for the Global Network via business‑focused projects.
  • Provide technical leadership in developing methodology, process, and standards for measuring network and application related key performance indicators such as end‑to‑end application response time, latency, and overall throughput.
  • Be responsible for effectiveness, quality of service, performance tuning, and implementation success.
You Have
  • 10+ years of experience with network engineering.
  • Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, MPLS circuit, NIPR / SIPR network, WLAN, ZTNA, Amazon Cloud, CUCM, voicemail, SCCP, Jabber, and SIP.
  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches, QoS DSCP marking, OSPF and BGP routing protocols, dynamic mGRE tunnels, VRF, MPLS / VPLS, Q‑in‑Q VLANs, Wireshark packet capture analysis, and network monitoring tools such as What’s Up Gold or Cisco ThousandEyes.
  • Experience interacting directly with clients, managers, stakeholders, and approving authorities to identify problems, analyze data, generate solutions, and communicate results.
  • HS diploma or GED.
  • DoD 8140 Certification.
  • Secret clearance.

  • Experience with Docker.
  • Experience with virtualization.
  • Experience with Navy Defense Research Evaluation Network (DREN) or Navy shore networks like Automated Digital Network System (ADNS).

  • CCNA Certification.

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.
