Job summary

Vitaver & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Network Engineer for a 12+ month onsite contract in Tallahassee, FL. The role requires working 100% at the client site with no remote work, relocation feasibility, and a focus on network infrastructure and security.

The candidate will design, implement, and monitor network infrastructure, coordinate maintenance, and document work while ensuring confidentiality per applicable Florida state codes.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of network engineering experience.
• Experience with infrastructure/network hardware and software design.
• Familiarity with Chapter 282, F.S. requirements.
• Experience with network monitoring tools including SIEM.
• Experience with NOC ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of confidentiality of records per Chapter 119, F.S.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal staff and, occasionally, external customers to provide application maintenance and enhancements.
• Provide technical documentation of work performed.
• Monitor the network's performance, identifying, tracking, and reporting issues, and ensuring timely resolution.
• Work on connectivity, security, and DNS issues escalated by the Network Operations Center.
• Provide timely updates and reports on network status to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in ensuring the security of deployed applications.
• Coordinate network maintenance activities and may serve as a project team member or lead, mentoring junior technical staff.

Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions

Work Setting: 100% of the time at the Client's site. No telecommuting or remote work. This is a non-negotiable requirement from the client.

Required:

• Availability to work 100% of the time at the Client's site in Tallahassee, FL (required);
• Experience with network engineering, including infrastructure/network hardware and software design, planning, and implementation (3-5 years);
