Job summary

WOOD Consulting Services, Inc. in Laurel, Maryland, is seeking a Network Engineer Level 1 to join our on-site team. You will design, implement, and maintain networks, ensure performance, and support telecommunications systems in a government-related program.

Candidates must have a technical degree, five years of experience or a bachelor's plus substitution, and hold one of the listed certifications; U.S. Citizens with TS/SCI clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
• Five (5) additional years of experience in Network Engineering may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
• Five (5) years' experience as a Network Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance in all aspects of network management from design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks.
• Analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently.
• Monitor network and telecommunications systems performance and respond to anomalies and issues according to defined procedures.

Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience.

Security Clearance Requirements

This position requires candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess a TS/SCI Security Clearance with an appropriate Polygraph.

Required Certifications

Possess and maintain one of the following

• CompTIA Security+
• MTA-IT Infrastructure
• MCSA Desktop (Windows 7/8), or
• MCITP - Windows Client (Desktop Support/Admin)
• Or equivalent approved by COR-T
