Job summary

Catalyst Operations & Analytics in Vienna, VA seeks a Junior Network Engineer to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure under guidance from senior engineers.

You will assist with routing and switching changes, support Tier I/II troubleshooting of connectivity and performance issues, and help maintain accurate network documentation. A Bachelor's degree with 0–3 years' experience and DoD IAT readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and 0-3 years of relevant professional network engineering experience; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Working knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/CAN) configuration and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, VPN)
• Exposure to network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Brocade)
• Basic understanding of network security principles and secure design practices
• Working toward or holding DoD 8140/8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) certification
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across a network operations team

Junior Network Engineers assist with implementation of routing and switching changes, support Tier I/II troubleshooting of connectivity and performance issues, and help maintain accurate network documentation. Junior Network Engineers are expected to build foundational networking depth while contributing reliably to the stability of mission-critical network operations.

Education/Experience Requirements:
