Everforth Apex is seeking a Network Engineer IV to design and deploy a global DWDM network from Seattle. The role emphasizes hands-on configuration, scaling tasks, and ensuring timely support for business needs.

The candidate should have 3+ years in DWDM platforms and optical planning, with the ability to script or program, and lead field technicians. Onsite Seattle location preferred for collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with major DWDM platforms and with optical planning tools.
  • Experience deploying large DWDM networks in Metro and Long Haul environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design optical solutions and support deployment and rollout of the global DWDM network.
  • Drive optical scaling tasks, review fiber quality, and generate cutsheets and configs.
  • Define and configure management solutions for remote monitoring and device visibility.
  • Collaborate with other networking teams to scale the optical network on time.
  • Review and implement changes on optical systems using CLI or scripts.
  • Ensure deployment tasks adhere to network standards.
  • Execute tasks with operational excellence and propose DWDM quality improvements.
  • Troubleshoot complex optical network problems and propose deployment enhancements.

Network Engineer IV

Location: Seattle, Washington (Onsite)

Role Overview

This role involves the design of optical solutions and hands-on support for the deployment and rollout of a global DWDM network. The position requires driving optical scaling tasks, generating configurations, and ensuring the network is scaled in time to support business needs. The successful candidate will work to improve network quality and reliability while troubleshooting complex problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design optical solutions and support the deployment and rollout of the global DWDM network.
  • Drive optical scaling tasks, including fiber quality reviews, and generate cutsheets and configs.
  • Define and configure management solutions to support optical network remote monitoring and device visibility.
  • Work closely with other networking teams to ensure the optical network is scaled in time to support business demands.
  • Review and implement changes on optical systems using manual CLI configuration or automated scripts.
  • Ensure optical network deployment tasks adhere to defined network standards.
  • Execute implementation tasks following operational excellence standards and propose improvements in DWDM network quality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems on optical networks and propose solutions to improve deployment agility.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience: This role requires 3+ years of experience with major DWDM platforms, 3+ years of experience with optical planning and modeling tools, and experience with the rollout of large DWDM networks in Metro and Long Haul spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and routing protocols.
  • Knowledge of L2 switching and L3 routing topologies is desirable.
  • Ability to script or program in a language.
  • Optical network design, planning, and implementation skills.
  • Team building and technical leadership experience to manage field technicians.
