Job summary

Astreya is seeking a Network Engineer IV to lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of our global network infrastructure. You will install, configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPN endpoints, and oversee CDN, edge, and data center components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.S/B.A) from four-year college or university and 8+ years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Understanding of CDN and internet peering strategies
• Familiarity with server hardware technologies related to content delivery performance and capacity
• DC infrastructure or implementation experience

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain network hosts and services (routers, switches, firewalls, VPN endpoints)
• Perform network maintenance/upgrades (during normal hours and occasional evenings/weekends)
• Troubleshoot network issues and outages; manage escalated issues
• Lead global production and corporate network including edge, backbone, datacenter, POP, and CDN infrastructure
• Coordinate with ISP/vendors on fixes related to network issues
• Manage incidents such as input errors, CRC, RMAs, etc.
• Work with ISP/vendors on network-related issues
• Other duties as required

Job description

The Network Engineer IV is a focal point for all internal and external orders required to maintain the network. This position requires the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to details.

Scope:

• Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
• Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

• Install, configure and maintain various network hosts and services like routers, switches, firewalls, VPN endpoints
• Perform network maintenances/upgrades (often during normal working hours, but sometimes during the evening or weekend)
• Troubleshooting network issues and outages, overseeing unique or escalated issues
• Lead global production and corporate network including edge, backbone, datacenter, POP, and content delivery network (CDN) infrastructure
• Mandle multiple vendor switch on various servers in dealing with hardware/software issues
• Handle traffic, and any queries raised by ISP/Partners
• Manage all incidents such as input errors, CRC, RMA etc.
• Work directly with ISP/Vendors on fixing any issues related to network

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 8+ years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
• Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel
• Familiarity with content delivery networks and internet peering strategies
• Understanding of server hardware technologies relative to content delivery performance and capacity
• DC infrastructure or implementation experience
