TEKsystems is seeking a Network Engineer III to join a small, collaborative team supporting ~70 locations from Kalamazoo, MI. You will own significant network initiatives across operations, security, and modernization while providing hands-on operation and project leadership.

Ideal candidates balance hands-on troubleshooting with strategic planning, participating in on-call rotations and multi-site support in a hybrid workplace. This contract role offers competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of enterprise networking experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 support for enterprise LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, wireless, and data center environments.
• Troubleshoot complex network incidents and outages; perform root cause analysis.
• Support routing and switching technologies including BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, QoS, MPLS, VXLAN, and SD‑WAN.
• Configure and maintain cloud connectivity between on-prem and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Assist with firewall administration in Palo Alto environments; expand Cisco ISE environment.

Description

Our healthcare client is seeking a Network Engineer III to join a small, highly collaborative networking team supporting approximately 70 locations across the enterprise. The team consists of 3 full-time network engineers and 1 contractor, creating an environment where engineers are expected to take broad ownership across operations, infrastructure projects, security, cloud connectivity, and network modernization initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level network engineer who enjoys working in a hands‑on environment, wearing multiple hats, and driving strategic network initiatives while supporting operational excellence.

Enterprise Network Operations

Provide Level 3 support for enterprise LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, wireless, and data center environments. Troubleshoot complex network incidents, performance issues, and outages. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Participate in maintenance windows and on‑call support. Support routing and switching technologies including BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, QoS, MPLS, VXLAN, and SD‑WAN.

Cloud & Hybrid Networking

Support cloud networking initiatives involving VPNs, cloud connectivity, and hybrid network architectures. Configure and maintain connectivity between on‑premises infrastructure and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. Support secure cloud‑to‑site networking solutions.

Network Security

Support and help expand the organization’s Cisco ISE environment. Assist with firewall administration within a Palo Alto environment. Support network access control, authentication, segmentation, and security initiatives.

Monitoring & Automation

Utilize monitoring and observability platforms such as SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, and Cisco Catalyst Center. Support network automation initiatives using automation tools and scripting technologies. Improve operational visibility and efficiency through automation and reporting.

Required Qualifications

6-8 years of enterprise networking experience. Strong Cisco networking background. Experience supporting multi‑site enterprise environments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
