Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Server, Linux, Microsoft 365, Azure, VMware, and cloud or virtualization platforms preferred.
• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, VPN, load balancing, routing protocols, switching, wireless, and firewall administration.
• Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, network security practices, and the OSI model.
• Experience working with vendors, carriers, software applications, and customer-facing technical environments preferred.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Azure, AWS, VMware, Network+, Security+, or equivalent are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and monitor network hardware, systems, and platform infrastructure.

• Maintain network functionality, performance, security, and data integrity across supported environments.
• Assist with physical and logical network design, implementation planning, and infrastructure upgrades.

• Administer Azure, Microsoft 365, VMware, and other infrastructure or platform tools as assigned.
• Troubleshoot and investigate complex network, system, cloud, and platform issues.
• Monitor network and platform health, performance, alerts, capacity, and service-impacting risks.
• Support incident response, outage investigation, root cause analysis, and follow-up remediation.
• Escalate issues appropriately with clear troubleshooting history, impact notes, and recommended next steps.

Job Summary: The Network Engineer II supports the design, deployment, maintenance, security, and performance of network, infrastructure, cloud, and communications platforms across internal and customer-facing environments.

This role maintains WAN, MAN, LAN, firewall, routing, switching, wireless, DNS, DHCP, server, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure. The Network Engineer II troubleshoots complex network and system issues, supports platform monitoring and security practices, and assists with physical and logical network design.

The position requires strong technical ownership, clear documentation, disciplined troubleshooting, and the ability to support both day-to-day operations and advanced technical projects.

• Maintain network and system security through patching, hardening, monitoring, and vulnerability remediation
• Support firewall, access control, VPN, segmentation, and secure configuration practices
• Follow cybersecurity policies, change management practices, and documentation standards
• Identify security gaps, aging systems, configuration drift, and operational risks
• Assist with compliance, audit, logging, access review, and security documentation as needed
• Work on advanced technical projects involving networks, systems, cloud, communications, and infrastructure
• Procure network equipment and coordinate installation tasks, replacements, upgrades, and vendor activities
• Support MSP customer environments, including customer networks, managed hardware, cloud services, and onsite work when needed
• Assist Field Services, Support, Customer Service, and senior technical staff with customer-impacting issues
• Document installations, configuration changes, equipment details, diagrams, and operational procedures

AI, Automation & Responsible Tooling

• Use approved AI, automation, and scripting tools to support network troubleshooting, configuration research, documentation, analysis, and operational improvement
• Protect confidential, customer, security, and network-sensitive information when using AI or automation tools
• Validate AI-assisted recommendations, commands, scripts, and configuration guidance before applying changes to production systems
• Use automation where appropriate to improve consistency, monitoring, documentation, and repeatable network operations
