7-Eleven, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Engineer II to protect and evolve our enterprise security across on‑premises, cloud, and distributed networks. This hands‑on role focuses on building, operating, and improving security controls with close partnership to infrastructure, cloud, and application teams.

You will strengthen our security posture as we modernize using cloud‑native tech, Zero Trust, and automation. Expect a dynamic, on‑site environment in Irving, TX with 24x7 on‑call rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Certifications such as PCNSE/CCNP Security/CISSP/GIAC/CEH or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain network security across enterprise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Monitor security platforms for threats and respond to incidents with root-cause analysis.
• Identify vulnerabilities and implement compensating controls when needed.
• Leverage automation to improve security operations and CI/CD integrations.
• Collaborate with network, cloud, DevOps, and application teams; document configurations and standards.

JOB SUMMARY:

We’relooking for aNetwork Security Engineer IIto help protect and evolve our enterprise security environment acrosson‑premises, cloud, and distributed networks. This is a hands‑on engineering role suited for security professionals who enjoy building,operating, and improving security controls while partnering closely with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams.

You’llplay a key role in strengthening our network security posture as we continue to modernize usingcloud‑native technologies, Zero Trust principles, and automation‑driven practices.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Network & Cloud Security Engineering

• Design, deploy, and maintain network security solutions across enterprise, cloud, and hybrid environments
• Engineer and support:
  • Next‑generation firewalls and network segmentation
  • Secure connectivity solutions (site‑to‑site and remote access)
  • Network access control, secure DNS, and traffic inspection
• Implement and support security controls aligned with Zero Trust and least‑privilege access models

Monitoring, Detection & Incident Response

• Monitor network security platforms for threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalous behavior
• Respond to security incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions
• Review logs and telemetry data to improve visibility and detection
• Participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotation supporting critical incidents

Vulnerability & Risk Management

• Identify, prioritize, and remediate network security vulnerabilities
• Implement compensating controls where full remediation is not immediately possible
• Participate in security design and architecture reviews for new systems and integrations
• Support regulatory and compliance requirements such as PCI‑DSS and data privacy standards

Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Leverage scripting and automation to improve reliability and efficiency of security operations
• Contribute to Infrastructure‑as‑Code and CI/CD security integrations where appropriate
• Assist with proof‑of‑concept testing and evaluation of new security tools and technologies

Collaboration & Documentation

• Partner with network, cloud, DevOps, and application teams to integrate security into designs and deployments
• Provide guidance on network security best practices and emerging threats
• Maintain clear documentation for configurations, standards, and incident response activities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degreeor equivalent experience

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 5+ years

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: Vendor or vendor‑neutral security certifications such as: PCNSE, CCNP Security, CISSP, GIAC, CEH—or equivalent experience

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, segmentation)
  • Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and network security monitoring tools
  • Log analysis, SIEM integration, and security telemetry
• Working familiarity with:
  • Cloud networking and security concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Zero Trust architecture concepts
  • Automation or scripting (Python, PowerShell, or similar)
