Job description

E-logic is seeking a Network Engineer I to provide hands‑on, on‑site network administration and system operations support for the Missoula Discovery Network. This specialized, high‑bandwidth environment is air‑gapped from the primary U.S. Forest Service (USFS) Fire enterprise network and requires a reliable engineer for day‑to‑day operations, maintenance, and hardware troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage technical intake, track issues, reset passwords, handle account lockouts, and assist users with VPN access.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware (Cisco switches and Cisco Firepower security appliances).
• Document and manage VLANs, subnets, port assignments, and IP address spaces (IPv4 and IPv6) across a 10 Gbps fiber link.
• Monitor and audit device logs, assist with vulnerability remediation, respond to zero‑day threats within 24 hours, and conduct account reviews.
• Maintain accurate software and hardware inventories, monitoring for End‑of‑Life (EOL) or End‑of‑Support (EOS) notices.

Job Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible to pass a background investigation and obtain a USDA LincPass (HSPD-12 PIV)
• Proven experience in network administration, help desk support, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS entries, and VLAN/subnet configurations.
• Must be located near Missoula, MT for daily on‑site support.
