ByteDance Networking brings together innovative ideas and technologies from network architecture, software defined networking (SDN), network virtualization, switch software and hardware co-design, and high-speed networking, to create hyperscale data-center networking solutions that power several of the most popular apps of the world such as Douyin and TikTok which serve hundreds of millions of users around the globe.

ByteDance Networking is responsible for designing, building, and operating the global, intelligent network infrastructure to meet the requirements of high availability, scalability, and high-performance. • Design, build, operate and optimize ByteDance's global network, including backbone, data center, public cloud and Edge/CDN.
• Work with cross-functional teams including but not limited to compute, storage, database, recommendation system, drive the innovation and evolution of ByteDance network.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Good network knowledge, such as OSI and TCP/IP model
• Basic understanding of routing protocols such as OSPF, ISIS and BGP
• Understanding of basic network monitoring protocols and tools, such as SNMP, Sflow/netflow, Telemetry.
• Hands-on experience of network devices, such as Cisco, Arista, Juniper etc
• Self-motivated, good communication and written skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good understanding of IPv6 and IPv4-IPv6 co-existence technologies.
• Programming/scripting in Python or other languages.

Job Information

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $121600 - $243200 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

• Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others.
• Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
