Job summary

Citizens invites applications for a Network Engineer Rotation as part of the Enterprise Technology & Security Development Program (ETSDP). The year-long program includes three rotations to contribute engineering expertise across cloud networking, security, and infrastructure, with onboarding and hands-on training in our Tech Made Ready Academy.

Start date June 28, 2027, with placements at Johnston RI, Phoenix AZ, or Plano TX; 40 hours/week, M-F 8:30am-5pm, full-time employment potential upon

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology or other technology-related degree.
• Expected graduation date May 2027
• Minimum GPA 3.0
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a team environment, strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build experience in maintaining and supporting widely available, secure connectivity solutions across the enterprise.
• Develop expertise in identifying and documenting network performance trends and patterns while monitoring network diagnostics and health.
• Strengthen collaboration and technical delivery skills through partnering with network engineers, architects, cybersecurity partners, cloud teams, infrastructure teams, application teams, vendors, and operations teams to plan and execute work.
• Advance your knowledge of network security technologies through the review and optimization of firewalls, proxy gateways, and other network security components.
• Develop troubleshooting capabilities by investigating and resolving network availability and accessibility issues.
• Gain hands-on experience with automation, orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, service catalog, and network observability initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve governance.
