Job summary

Meta's Edge & Network Service (ENS) team is seeking a Network Engineer to deploy and support production networks across Meta's datacenters, backbone, optical and CDN platforms. You will collaborate with partner teams, manage deployments and documentation, and help drive reliable, scalable networking solutions globally.

Summary:

Meta's Edge & Network Service (ENS) team is actively looking for passionate people to help us tackle the unique set of challenges and opportunities we face, while contributing to our company mission of connecting the world. Our team is the execution arm of the Meta network team and is responsible for the deployment and support of all production networks (Edge, Backbone, Optical, and Datacenter) as well as our content delivery network (CDN) across the globe. Required Skills:

Network Engineer, Deployment & Support Responsibilities:

1. Deployment, configuration, and management of all network infrastructure on our datacenter campus

2. Work with partner teams and vendors to manage day-to-day operations and reliability of the regional network

3. Schedule and perform maintenance including upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning of production networks

4. Create deployment packages and maintain as-built documentation and asset database for installed network gear

5. Establish and implement global best practices and contribute to the design of new scalable network solutions

6. Support the development, testing and integration of new hardware and software platforms into the network

7. Participate in an on-call rotation to support the regional network infrastructure 24/7

8. 10% of travel required, up to 30% based on projects

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

1. 4+ years of work experience responsible for designing, deploying and operating large-scale networks

2. Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP)

3. Working knowledge of network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS) and experience with IPv4 and IPv6

4. Experience working in a multi-vendor environment with hands-on experience with networking hardware

5. Working knowledge of physical infrastructure design including structured cabling and fiber-optic cabling

6. Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and deliver against mission critical deadlines

7. Proven experience working in a global team environment and solving problems with limited supervision

8. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta

1. Technical leadership and people management experience

2. Working knowledge of data center power and cooling infrastructure and critical facility operational best practices

3. Experience with field-based work in Data Centers, Colocation Facilities, Internet Exchanges, or Central Offices

4. Familiarity with the Linux based systems and experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Perl)

5. Working knowledge of 40/100G Ethernet and CWDM, DWDM and optical transport network technologies

6. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

7. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

8. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Public Compensation:

$106,995/year to $159,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
