As a trusted partner to the Federal Aviation Administration, Peraton helps deliver the systems and services that keep our nation’s skies safe and connected. We’re looking for innovative professionals who thrive in mission‑critical environments and are passionate about shaping the future of air traffic management. This is your chance to make an impact on one of the world’s most vital transportation infrastructures, working alongside leaders in aviation, engineering, data science, and systems integration.

At Peraton, you won’t just support the mission — you’ll define it.

Help shape the future of U.S. airspace safety and efficiency. We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain enterprise‑level networks in support of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In this role, you will provide technical expertise in routing, switching, and secure communications, ensuring FAA systems meet the highest standards of availability, scalability, and security. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain in‑depth experience in federal contracting while supporting high‑visibility aviation programs.

In this position, you will:

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and cloud‑connected networks.

  • Install and support routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless devices.

  • Implement and manage network security controls to comply with NIST RMF, FISMA, and Zero Trust requirements.

  • Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization of FAA networks.

  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for network outages and latency issues.

  • Support the deployment and integration of NextGen FAA modernization systems.

  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and configuration baselines.

  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability management for network devices and services.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to monitor, detect, and mitigate threats.

  • Provide technical expertise for network‑related proposals, upgrades, and lifecycle planning.

  • Support modernization initiatives, optimize performance, and troubleshoot complex issues while ensuring compliance with FAA and federal standards.

  • Design and troubleshoot high‑availability and redundant network topologies.

  • Prepare audit‑ready documentation and support compliance reviews.

Why This Role Matters

The FAA is the cornerstone of aviation safety and innovation. As a Network Engineer, your work will directly impact air traffic management systems, mission‑critical communications, and modernization programs that ensure safe and efficient air travel. By designing and maintaining resilient network solutions, you will play a key role in protecting aviation infrastructure and national security.
