Job summary

AUSGAR Technologies, Inc. seeks a Network Engineer for the NOTM program in San Diego, CA. You will support NIWC Pacific, install and troubleshoot routing, switching, and satellite systems, and help military personnel resolve networking issues.

Required are an active Secret/Top Secret clearance, CCNA, Security+ CE, and a Bachelor's degree in engineering or CS with 2–6 years experience. Travel up to 10% may be involved; E-Verify is used.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance required at minimum; Top Secret clearance upon hire is stated as must-have.
  • CCNA and Security+ CE certifications required (or within 90 days of hire).
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science and 2-6 years of experience.
  • Experience with NSA Type 1 encryption equipment is required.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure networked systems including routing and switching devices.
  • Establish and maintain tactical network connectivity for security enclaves and satellite systems.
  • Provide assistance to military personnel in networking and systems issues.
  • Test and evaluate new equipment for the NOTM program.
  • Assess QoS strategies to improve network performance.

Network Engineer - 26-033 – San Diego, CA

As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting NEW opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members at NIWC PAC in the Point Loma area of San Diego, CA.

The Network Engineer will provide direct support to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific working on the United States Marine Corps Networking on the Move (NOTM) program. Support will include the following:

  • Conduct installation and configuration of networked systems to include routing and switching hardware devices and protocols.
  • Establish, troubleshoot and maintain both local area and wide area tactical network connectivity for multiple security enclaves. Establish both fixed satellite communications earth terminals, as well as enabling fully mobile vehicular based satellite systems.
  • Provide assistance to military personnel in the resolution of networking, communications and systems issues.
  • Perform testing and evaluation of new equipment and systems for possible inclusion into the NOTM program.
  • Conduct testing of Quality of Service (QoS) strategies to improve system performance over tactical data links.
  • Assist in the development and testing of prototype tactical vehicles.
Requirements

  • Must possess an active Secret clearance.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification required.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required (or within 90 days of hire).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science related field and 2-6 years of experience
  • Experience with NSA Type 1 encryption equipment required.
  • Solid analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems required.
  • Technical writing skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experience with Marine Corps tactical IP-based networks, Wide Area Networks (WANs) and Local Area Networks (LANs) preferred.
  • Experience with Marine Corps satellite systems to include very small aperture terminals (VSAT) and vehicular based systems desired.
  • Knowledge of tactical meshing radio systems to include commercial based and military products desired.
  • Cisco Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) experience desired.
  • Occasional travel, up to 10%.

Salary Range: $105K-$115K

Based on your qualifications, you will be placed in Level I-V.

An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.
