Job summary

Dignitas Technologies in Orlando, FL is seeking a network engineer to design and implement self-healing networks for DoD-related work, collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and government stakeholders. A hybrid work arrangement is possible when not on-site for customer meetings, with on-site work as required.

The role is full-time with standard hours, and may involve occasional travel. DoD Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain clearance is required, and mentorship of IT staff is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing and implementing self-healing networks.
• Expert understanding of Cisco and/or Juniper technologies.
• Expert understanding of networking protocols.
• Experience in cross-platform networking environments.
• Experience configuring workstation, server, switch, and router configurations.
• Expert level experience in the configuration & operation of firewalls.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements self-healing networks.
• Documents the network configuration including maintenance procedures.
• Troubleshoots routing, switching and multicase faults.
• Configures and troubleshoots RADIUS, SYSLOG, NTP, OSPF, Auto-RP.
• Designs and monitors network load balancing and health.
• Advises on upgrades or reconfigurations as needed.
• Identifies upgrading needs for network components.
• Hardens networking infrastructure balancing availability, integrity, confidentiality.
• Resolves IACA/STIG findings with proper documentation.
• Provides on-site technical and operational support.
• Conducts site surveys for equipment installations.
• Performs other duties and mentors IT personnel.

Position Overview

This role requires close collaboration with internal teams, external suppliers, and government stakeholders and involves occasional travel to customer sites or supplier locations. A hybrid work environment is possible when not required to be on-site for customer meetings. The program reserves the right to require on-site work if program execution and success dictates.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements self-healing networks
• Documents the network configuration including documentation of maintenance procedures for the network
• Troubleshoots routing, switching and multicase faults
• Configures and troubleshoots RADIUS, SYSLOG, NTP, OSPF, Auto-RP
• Designs and monitors network load balancing, route cost patterns, overall system health, etc. and advises on need for potential upgrades or reconfigurations
• Identifies the need to upgrade or enhance network component capabilities
• Hardens networking infrastructure as appropriate, balancing customer Availability/Integrity/Confidentiality needs
• Resolves IACA/STIG findings as appropriate, providing proper documentation and/or justification to A&A personnel
• Provides on-site technical and operational support in installation and operation of any/all telecommunications equipment
• Conducts site surveys to determine feasibility of equipment installations (e.g. telecommunications, electrical, temperature/humidity, cleanliness, space/weight, maintainability, logistical support)
• Performs other duties as required
• Mentors other IT personnel as needed

Required Experience/Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• Experience designing and implementing self-healing networks
• Expert understanding of Cisco and/or Juniper technologies
• Expert understanding of networking protocols
• Experience in cross-platform networking environments
• Experience in setting up workstation, server, switch, and router configurations
• Expert level experience in the configuration & operation of firewalls

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

• DoD Active Secret Clearance or ability to get a clearance
