Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Network Engineer to configure and operate Cisco ASA/Firepower, Nexus switches, and IOS-based routers, supporting routing, tunneling, and security controls for enterprise and government environments.

You will design, deploy, and troubleshoot multi-vendor networks, collaborate with engineers and operations staff to ensure secure, scalable connectivity for mission systems, and hold a bachelor’s degree and a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering for multi-protocol IP backbone and access networks.
  • 2+ years of experience with Cisco technologies.
  • 2+ years of experience with BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS, STP, or L3VPNs.
  • Experience with network design, performance management, and planning.
  • Experience with multi-vendor network equipment (VMware, Cisco, Palo Alto, Dell, HPE, Juniper).
  • Knowledge of network security principles.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Network Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a Network Engineer, you will be expected to configure andoperateCisco platforms such as ASA/Firepower, Nexus switches, and IOS-based routers. You may also have responsibility insupportingrouting protocols and tunneling technologies including OSPF, BGP/IBGP, GRE, and MPLS L3VPN.You will be expected to regularly troubleshoot complex network performance issues and implement corrective actionsas well as support network architecture reviews, capacity planning, and performance optimizationand integrate network security controls aligned to enterprise security and information assurance requirements.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, including designing, deploying, and providing advanced support of multi-protocol IP backbone and access networks

  • 2+ years of experience with Cisco network technologies

  • 2+ years of experience with security, routing, and switching protocols such as BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS, STP, or L3VPNs

  • Experience withnetwork design, network performance management, and network planning

  • Experience with Juniper networks or MPLS L3VPN

  • Experience deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multivendor network equipment and solutions such as VMWare, Cisco, Palo Alto, Dell, HPE, or Juniper

  • Knowledge of network security principles

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with network operations support and enterprise network architecture

  • Experience with voice technologies such as Cisco TMS or Cisco Voice

  • Experience with network security auditing and information assurance

  • Knowledge of Cisco ASA Firepower, Cisco Nexus, Cisco routers, and Cisco IOS

  • Knowledge of LAN design, engineering principles, and hybrid delivery environments

  • Possession of excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Cisco Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIECertification

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
