Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field and 10+ years in IP networks.
• Architecting and designing IP networks with enterprise-scale experience.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain network equipment across multiple data centers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues and outages.
• Design network architectures based on customer requirements and best practices.
• Develop unique solutions meeting client needs and industry standards.
• Collaborate with Storage, Platform, and Applications teams to resolve problems.
• Maintain Cisco ACI configurations and verify multi data center designs.
• Prepare architectural designs and present to stakeholders.
• Work with engineers to identify new products and solutions.
• Document system networks and maintain audit-ready records.
• Support incidents and provide 24x7 on-call coverage.

Overview

Byte Systems, a subsidiary of VTG, is seeking a Network Engineer. The Network Engineer will be responsible to design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures. This role requires deep technical expertise in networking technologies, including routing, switching, and network security controls. The ideal candidate is a technical practitioner, not just an advisor – someone who can design, implement, and troubleshoot complex network architectures and familiar with the customer’s enterprise networks to include Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN), and routing protocols. The ideal candidate must have the professional connection to the customer’s enterprise networks (DDI/ITE/GIO) and familiar with the Cisco ACI technology.

What will you do?

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

• In-depth understanding of networking to include routing, switching, network monitoring and management
• Strong troubleshooting skills specific to network connectivity, security, and ability to effectively work in cross functional teams as needed to resolve issues
• Expert for SDN engagements built around Cisco ACI
• Background in Cisco ACI design, planning, implementation, and testing, based on a multi data center configurations
• Good team and collaboration skills
• Ability to research and find new and innovative technologies to enhance the existing network
• Define network strategy with respect to technology domain standards and design goals
• Provide technical design and architectural leadership, including documenting and diagramming the logical, physical and process views
• Experience analyzing network traffic, using a variety of network tools to assess security-related events to assist in rapid identification and isolation of issues during incidents and outages
• Experience in designing, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting these various network technologies and protocols
• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining boundary security solutions and exposure to enterprise network architecture
• Good knowledge and hands-on experience with VXLAN/EVPN

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

• Experience with Network Access Control and Segmentation
• Experience with security compliance standards
• Experience with site-to-site VPNs and/or remote access VPNs
• Network programmability for automating network tasks (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Python, Rest API’s)

• NextGen Firewall Experience
• Experience configuring/administrating various network technologies including Cisco ACI, Cisco DCNM, OTV, VMware NSX
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing network reference architecture from mission requirements gathering to technology rollout oversight, including capacity management, technology selection, integration of multiple tools and technical documentation
• Familiarity with Software defined networking (SDN) Network Disaggregation technologies and methodologies along with open-source solutions
• Ability to brief complex information to senior leadership
• Familiarity with Software defined networking (SDN) Network Disaggregation technologies and methodologies along with open-source solutions
• Drive enhancements through full life cycle from concept to final implementation and support
