Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, secure, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across statewide facilities.

The role requires Cisco IOS/NX-OS expertise, SD-WAN leadership, Meraki integration, and strong automation skills to support security-driven, zero-trust architectures with Azure/AWS cloud connectivity.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Expert-level Cisco routing and switching experience (IOS/NX-OS).
• Advanced knowledge of OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, VRF, QoS.
• Hands-on Cisco SD-WAN experience (vManage/vSmart).
• Strong Meraki experience with API utilization.
• Deep expertise in Cisco ISE, Duo, Cloudflare Zero Trust.
• Automation experience: Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, REST APIs, Git.
• Monitoring with SolarWinds/PRTG, ThousandEyes, Splunk.
• Willing to travel statewide; CCNA required; CCNP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise network solutions using Cisco IOS/NX-OS and Nexus platforms.
• Architect resilient WAN/LAN infrastructures including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, segmentation, QoS, HA.
• Lead Cisco SD-WAN architecture and operations with app-aware routing and centralized policies.
• Engineer scalable Meraki-based solutions and Meraki API usage.
• Integrate networking with Azure and AWS cloud environments (ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, Virtual WAN).
• Design and implement L2/L3 networking, segmentation, QoS, HA, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Mentor junior staff and enforce best practices.
• Travel statewide to courts throughout Virginia.

Position Summary

Everforth is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, secure, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure supporting statewide organizational facilities.

Network Operations & Analysis

• Analyze logs, alerts, and performance metrics.

Secure Access & Zero Trust

• Serve as SME for Cisco ISE:

• Manage firewall policies, NAT, IPS, segmentation, and VPN solutions using Cisco Secure Firewall.
• Implement Zero Trust concepts with:
  • Duo MFA

• Maintain compliance with NIST CSF and NIST SP 800-53.

Automation & APIs

• Develop automation solutions using:
  • Python

  • Large-scale deployments

Monitoring & Telemetry

• Utilize:

• Lead root-cause analysis and post-incident reporting.

Vulnerability Management & Governance

• Perform vulnerability assessments using:

• Participate in CAB reviews.
• Develop rollback plans and maintain change documentation.

Field Engineering & Vendor Coordination

• Support statewide deployments, migrations, and circuit turn-ups.
• Coordinate with carriers and vendors.
• Lead site installations and infrastructure upgrades.
• Travel to courts throughout Virginia.

Cross-Team Collaboration
