Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Network Engineer to design, optimize, secure, and sustain large-scale enterprise networks for DoD missions in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The role requires extensive routing and switching expertise, OSI layers 1–4 knowledge, and experience with cryptographic devices and enterprise network engineering in mission-critical environments.

The candidate will manage Cisco routing/switching across 700+ devices, review IAVAs/IAVBs, and implement remediation while supporting telecom circuits

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical discipline with 7+ years of experience, or a Master’s with 5+ years.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance (in DISS).
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Active CCNP certification.
  • Engineering experience supporting DoD communication systems and networks.
  • OSI model knowledge L1-L4; higher layers knowledge is essential.
  • Expertise with Cisco enterprise networking, cryptographic devices, and large-scale routing optimization.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Azure Firewalls.
  • Experience with SolarWinds, Cisco ISE with TACACS+, and GEMOne.

Responsibilities

  • Manage 700+ Cisco routers and switches for enterprise networks.
  • Configure cryptographic devices and protocols (OSPF).
  • Review IAVAs/IAVBs and implement remediation.
  • Support local networks and circuits from T1 through OC-192.
  • Develop SOPs and enhance security posture.
  • Provide onsite engineering support for mission environments.
  • Travel to locations including Guam, Japan, Bahrain, Italy, Spain, Australia, Korea, and Singapore.

Network Engineer

Location: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI Required

Leidos is seeking a Network Engineer to support forward deployed mission operations at the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. In this role, you will design, optimize, secure, and sustain large scale enterprise networks supporting critical Department of Defense communications. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with complex routing and switching, DoD communication systems, and enterprise network engineering in mission critical environments.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), firewall, and Network Management System (NMS) activities in accordance with Government guidance.
  • Manage advanced Cisco routing and switching for enterprise networks consisting of more than 700 Cisco routers and switches.
  • Configure cryptographic devices and advanced routing protocols, including Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).
  • Review Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletins (IAVBs), and implement required remediation.
  • Support local network infrastructure and telecommunications circuits ranging from T1 through OC 192.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recommend improvements to the Government that enhance the security environment.
  • Provide onsite engineering support for operational mission environments.
  • Provide technical assistance to remote Hopper Global Communications Center (HGCC) divisions. Travel may be required to Guam, Japan, Bahrain, Italy, Spain, Australia, South Korea, and Singapore.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, an engineering discipline, or a technical discipline with 7+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 5+ years of experience. Additional relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance (in DISS).
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
  • Engineering experience supporting DoD communication systems and networks.
  • Expertise in the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, specifically Layers 1 through 4. Knowledge of systems and applications operating at the higher OSI layers is essential to the continued success of HGCC N31 and its supported customers.
  • Expertise with Cisco enterprise networking, cryptographic devices, and large scale routing optimization.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Azure Firewalls.
  • Experience with SolarWinds, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) with TACACS+, and GEMOne.

Pay Range: $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
