Position Overview
The State of Mississippi – Department of Revenue is seeking a highly experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, secure, and support enterprise network infrastructure across data centers and statewide operations.
Required Skills
- 15+ years of Cisco networking experience
- Hands-on Cisco ACI experience in production environments
- Strong knowledge of ACI constructs:
- VRF
- Bridge Domains (BD)
- EPG/ESG
- L3Out
- Contracts
- Experience integrating ACI with Red Hat OpenShift VMM and Cilium/Isovalent
- Strong Cisco Catalyst and SDA experience
- Experience administering Cisco ISE, including TACACS+ and policy-based NAC
- Strong knowledge of ThousandEyes, Cyber Vision, and DNA Spaces or comparable tools
- Strong TCP/IP, L2/L3 routing, switching, QoS, and network security knowledge
- Experience supporting high-availability enterprise infrastructure
- Strong documentation, architecture diagram, analytical, and communication skills
- Hands-on experience with container networking and virtualization integrations
- Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, and REST APIs
Palo Alto / Network Security
- Experience with Palo Alto Networks NGFW
- Firewall configuration and troubleshooting
- Security profiles and policy development
- NAT, App-ID, URL filtering, and WildFire
- Foundational understanding of network security threats and policies
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Cisco Nexus platforms running ACI mode, including VRFs, BDs, EPGs/ESGs, L3Out, contracts, and fabric policies.
- Integrate ACI with OpenShift VMM and Isovalent/Cilium.
- Configure and optimize RoCEv2 within the ACI fabric.
- Troubleshoot ACI fabric health, faults, endpoint learning, contracts, and multi-tenant segmentation.
- Deploy and support Cisco Catalyst platforms and SDA wired/wireless fabrics.
- Manage SDA underlay/overlay, policy mapping, authentication integrations, and assurance operations.
- Configure and administer Cisco ISE for TACACS+, authentication/authorization, and endpoint profiling.
- Support Zero Trust initiatives through identity-centric segmentation.
- Deploy and manage ThousandEyes for visibility, routing analysis, and performance monitoring.
- Support Cisco Cyber Vision for OT/IoT visibility, device classification, and behavior analysis.
- Manage DNA Spaces for location analytics, telemetry, and wireless intelligence.
- Troubleshoot complex L2/L3 networking issues involving VLANs, OSPF, BGP, STP, and multicast.
- Design and implement Palo Alto Networks security solutions.
- Create and maintain architecture diagrams, standards, runbooks, and asset inventories.
- Support modernization planning, platform upgrades, procurement, and statewide technology initiatives.
