Job summary

NBCUniversal’s Network Engineering group in the Operations & Technology organization seeks a Network Engineer based at NBCUniversal’s core production location in Miami, Florida. You will work with a team of network and firewall engineers to build reliable infrastructure for broadcast and media production facilities.

The role requires configuring Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto firewalls, and using automation/monitoring tools; AWS/Azure networking and on-call support are part of the duties.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience configuring, deploying & supporting network tech from multiple vendors.
• Experience with AWS and Azure network configurations (Direct Connect, ExpressRoute).
• Hands-on experience implementing Palo Alto firewall policy (Panorama).
• Participate in 24x7 on-call production support.
• Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation and diagrams.
• Occasional travel for project and remote event support.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

NBCUniversal’s Network Engineering group within the Operations & Technology organization has an opening for a Network Engineer based at NBC’s core production location in Miami, Florida.

The engineer will work within a dedicated team of network and firewall engineers tasked with building reliable and scalable network infrastructure for NBCUniversal’s broadcast and media production facilities. The selected candidate will have experience in the configuration, deployment, and support of Cisco, Arista, and Palo Alto firewalls using vendor and internal automation and monitoring systems.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years experience configuring, deploying, and supporting network technology from multiple vendors including Cisco (IOS, NX-OS, XR), Arista, Palo Alto, and F5.
• Experience with AWS and Azure network configurations (Direct Connect, Express Route).
• Hands-on experience implementing firewall policy on Palo Alto (Panorama).
• Participate in operational on-call rotation for support of 24x7 production on-air network infrastructure.
• Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation and diagrams.
• Occasional travel for project and remote event support.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good understanding of both Enterprise and Service Provider networking:
  • OSPF, IS-IS, vPC, port-channeling, 10/40/100G optics, IPSEC, QoS, VLAN, Multicast
  • MP-BGP, route-reflection, MPLS (IP and Segment Routing), Traffic Engineering, L3VPN, VRF
• Ability to analyze network logging and other data sets to troubleshoot and isolate production and design problems.
• Experience with network automation and version control tools such as Ansible and Git to deploy networks at scale.

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
