Responsibilities

  • Tests and analyzes network elements and ensures enterprise integration.
  • Plan, model, design, install, maintain and coordinate the network.
  • Monitor performance and diagnose complex issues affecting networks.
  • Keep skills updated and study vendor products to meet government needs.
  • Provide guidance to junior network support staff.
  • Deliver comprehensive systems and network engineering and planning services.
  • Interface with O&M personnel for design and project support.
  • Review architectures regularly and assist with improvements.
  • Establish systems engineering focusing on end-to-end functionality.
  • Perform disaster recovery and backup/restore.
  • Support network cybersecurity technologies and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain LAN/WAN, VoIP, and data center infrastructure.
  • Maintain security infrastructure including Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower, ISE.
  • Support Wireless, Application Delivery, Cloud, Mobile, and End Point management.
  • Align with CSfC or NSA Capabilities Package.
  • Engineer enterprise data, voice, and video networks.
  • Operate network test facilities and ensure secure data transfer.

Job description

CPMG offers flexible, integrative solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) contractors, among others, and specializes in cybersecurity, information and operational technology, electronic security surveillance, and support services.

Summary:

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

This position is located onsite in Ft. Bragg, NC.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • This position tests and analyzes elements of network facilities, including power, software, security features, communications devices, communications lines, modems, and terminals and is responsible for the overall integration of the enterprise network.
  • Planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the network.
  • Monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources by using software and hardware tools, as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance.
  • The Engineer must keep their technical skills updated and studies vendor products to determine those which best meet the Government's needs.
  • This position provides guidance and direction for junior network support technicians.
  • Providing comprehensive systems and network engineering and architectural planning services.
  • Interfacing with O&M personnel by providing strategic design and support to projects as directed.
  • Comprehensively reviewing existing architectures on a regular basis, recommending and assisting with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements as required.
  • Candidate will establish systems engineering with a focus on the end-to-end functionality of complex systems
  • Performing disaster recovery and backup/restore.
  • Supporting efforts for network cybersecurity technology, risks identification and risk mitigation strategies related to cybersecurity, and A&A support documentation in accordance with applicable DoD and IC directives.
  • Maintaining LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures, voice and data network systems, advanced engineering, and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.
  • Maintaining network security infrastructure including but not limited to: Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Firepower, and ISE.
  • Maintaining data center network infrastructure including but not limited to ACI
  • Providing support with Wireless networking, Application delivery networking, Cloud computing, Mobile computing, End Point management, and desktop computing.
  • Providing Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) or other NSA Capabilities Package.
  • Engineering enterprise data, voice, and video networks.
  • Establishing and operating network test facilities.
  • Maintaining a secure transfer of data to multiple locations via internal and external networks.
  • Working with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing management.
  • Providing high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, bridges, and routers.
  • Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years with High School Diploma or 4 years with Associate degree, or 2 years with Bachelor's degree.
  • Education & Experience Equivalency: BS + 2 years of experience OR MS + 0 years of experience OR HS with 6 years of experience OR AA with 4 years of experience
  • DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP) required AND CCNA
  • Detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software.
  • Must have extensive experience in areas such as network design and implementation, LAN/WAN interfacing, security, Internet protocols and TCP/IP, as well as server and network infrastructure is required.
  • A DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level is required.
  • Must be DoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 441 - Network Operations Specialist- Intermediate level or higher by 1 Sept 26.

  • CCNP Collaboration OR CCNP Enterprise OR CCNP Security OR CCNP Service Provider OR CCDP OR CCIoT OR Aruba Certified Mobility Professional OR Juniper Networks Certified Specialist certifications.
