Base pay range

$115,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr

We are seeking a highly skilled L2 Network Engineer with expertise in Layer 2/3 network design and architecture. This role involves supporting business requirements for connectivity, capacity, security, resilience, recovery, and access across data, voice, and storage infrastructure. The position will encompass internal and external networks, mobile, public, private, cloud, intranet, and data center environments.

• Multiple data centers and 450+ office locations.
• Cisco Nexus 9000 (ACI leaf/spine & standalone), Nexus 7000 (VDC), and Nexus 5000 switches.
• Cisco ASR multigigabit routers with advanced IP traffic engineering (OSPF, BGP & EIGRP).
• Cisco ASA (for NAC-enabled remote-access VPN), ISE, and AnyConnect VPN.
• Cisco Enterprise Wireless Controllers with 900+ wireless access points.
• Palo Alto Firewalls + Panorama and FortiNet FortiGate Firewalls + FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer.
• Site-to-Site VPN via FortiNet FortiGate SDWAN and Palo Alto Firewalls.
• FortiNet FortiNAC.
• Vivai Solutions Observer Apex, GigaStor, OMS, and Analyzer.
• Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity Voicemail, UCCX, ExpressWay, and QoS.
• Cloud exchange peering with AWS and Azure.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a subject matter expert for Layer 2/3 network strategy, architecture, implementation, and support.
• Develop network design policies addressing connectivity, security, resilience, recovery, and remote access.
• Maintain specifications, topologies, configuration, and design documentation.
• Define user/system interfaces, security controls, validation procedures, and risk assessments.
• Provide contingency planning and recovery procedures for network operations.

Position Requirements:

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Must possess current networking certifications.
• Preferred certifications in Palo Alto, FortiGate, Citrix NetScaler, and related security technologies.

Technical Skills & Experience:

• Traffic-engineering expertise with BGP.
• Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure cloud services.
• Proficiency in Cisco Multi-Site ACI.
• Strong experience with Palo Alto Firewalls & Panorama and/or FortiNet FortiGate Firewalls & FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer.
• Familiarity with enterprise wireless technology.
• Deep understanding of network security and design, including IPSec VPN (S2S, RA, DMVPN & B2B), TCP/IP, firewalls, IPS/IDS, VoIP, load balancers, routers, and switches.
• Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager and UCCX is a plus.
