Job summary

The Fountain Group in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a Network Engineer to support a DoD missile defense program. The role focuses on implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable connectivity.

Responsibilities include configuring Cisco and Juniper devices and firewalls, monitoring LAN/WAN performance, and applying core networking technologies such as TCP/IP, OSPF, and BGP. A Secret clearance and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 5+ years of engineering/networking experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
• CCNA or JNCIA certification is required.
• IAT Level II 8570-compliant certification is required.
• Experience with Cisco/Juniper equipment and firewall technologies.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are currently seeking a Network Engineer for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Description:

• Pay: $66.85/hr (W2)
• 1-year assignment with potential to extend based on performance and business need
• You will support the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure supporting a DoD missile defense program
• Configure and maintain network devices including Cisco and Juniper routers and switches, as well as network firewalls
• Support reliable connectivity across LAN/WAN environments
• Monitor network performance and proactively troubleshoot connectivity, latency, packet loss, and other network issues
• Implement and support core networking technologies including TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, GRE tunnels, and UDP multicast
• Support and troubleshoot multi-vendor network infrastructure, including Cisco and Juniper switching/routing
• Work with firewalls, particularly Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto
• Support network designs involving SONET, MSPP, WAN optimization, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant engineering/networking experience
• Active Secret Security Clearance required
• CCNA or JNCIA certification required
• IAT Level II 8570-compliant certification required, such as Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNP, SCNA, etc.
• Strong understanding of the OSI Model and TCP/IP
• Hands-on experience with BGP and OSPF
• Strong network traffic analysis, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
• Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper networking equipment
• Firewall experience with Juniper, Fortinet, and/or Palo Alto
• Experience with VLANs, GRE tunnels, UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, and TCP/IP network design
• Experience with WAN optimizers, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment
• CCNP or JNCIP certification is a plus
• Experience with Ansible/network automation is a plus
• Knowledge of DoD security practices, STIG compliance, and system accreditation is a plus
• Experience with VMware Foundation, NSX, vSAN, or Aria is a plus
• Prior C2BMC experience is highly preferred
