Job summary

Delta Dental of Virginia is seeking a Network Development Specialist in Richmond, VA. You will recruit and maintain the DDVA dentist networks across Central Virginia, coordinate provider seminars, and support continuing education initiatives while representing the company at meetings and conferences.

The role requires experience in dental/healthcare, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to analyze provider information and trends to expand the network.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in dental, healthcare, or insurance.
  • Sales or service experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; able to use database reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Meet goals for network size in identified areas of the state.
  • Maintain reports for network analysis and assist with provider recruitment.
  • Work with Dental Director on targeted provider recruitment in specific networks (PPO and DeltaCare).
  • Provide web support training.
  • Coordinate DDVA sponsored continuing education courses for dentists and staff.
  • Develop provider-specific educational presentations.

Network Development Specialist

Position Summary:

Responsible to recruit and maintain the DDVA participating dentist networks in Central Virginia. Responds to requests for dentist recruitment from other Delta Dental Member Companies, Marketing and Sales staff and performs other targeted recruitment as directed. Conducts orientation meetings with new provider offices, including new office support and walk through. Represents Delta Dental at a wide variety of meetings and conferences. Coordinates provider seminars and DDVA sponsored continuing education courses throughout the state, including provider notification, facility requirements, identification of seminar topics and procurement of speakers.

Essential Functions:
  • Meets goals for network size in identified areas of the state
  • Maintains reports for network analysis that includes provider information such as location/s, assisting with the identification of multiple providers in multi-office locations for the credentialing process; maintains good working relationships with dental offices for retention and other information on an as needed basis
  • Works with the Dental Director for targeted provider recruitment in specific areas and for specific networks (i.e. PPO and DeltaCare)
  • Provides web support training.
  • Connects provider offices with Internal Liaison staff or departments to address more technical or complex claims related questions providing follow-up to ensure issue resolution
  • Conduct orientation meetings with new participating providers
  • Identifies dental practice trends and uses information to maintain and/or expand network
  • Represents DDVA at state meetings and conferences
  • Identification of key dental meeting sites dates coordinating exhibit booths at events
  • Works with Dental Director, plans, schedules and coordinates DDVA sponsored continuing education courses for dentists and auxiliary staff
  • Develops provider specific educational power point presentations for providers and related groups
  • Meet deadlines for submitting expense reports and other internal reporting
  • Maintains travel expenses within established annual travel budget. Variance of travel exceeding budget or other budget variances discussed in advance
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
  • Requires education equivalent to Associates Degree with Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of five years’ experience working in the dental, healthcare or insurance industry.
  • Must have some experience working in a sales or service position.
  • Requires strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to sell or influence.
  • Requires excellent customer service and follow-up skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or similar products (word, excel, power point) and the ability to use database reporting and analytics.
  • This position may require travel using personal vehicle. Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading people and getting results through others.
  • Ability to think and plan strategically for organizational success.

  • Work environment: The work is limited to the office environment with occasional trips to other office facilities or locations necessitating walking outdoors or driving. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000 annually. This range reflects base salary only; additional bonus and incentive opportunities are available.
