Job description

We are seeking a Network Development Engineer to join our network engineering team. We design, deploy, and operate purpose-built networks for advanced manufacturing and R&D facilities. From large scale to rapid-deployment lab environments, these networks are the backbone that enables robotics development, production operations, and product testing at scale.

Our mission is to deliver manufacturing-grade network infrastructure that sets the standard for performance, availability, and security while enabling engineering teams to build and ship at velocity.

We are looking for a Network Development Engineer who can design, implement, and operate SD-Access campus and manufacturing networks end to end. You will own network design from requirements through deployment, operate the infrastructure post-turnover, and drive automation that reduces human touch in maintenance and change execution. You will work directly with product engineering and R&D teams as their network partner, translating their requirements into production-ready infrastructure.

The right candidate has hands-on experience with modern campus/manufacturing network design, is comfortable operating at scale across multiple sites, and thrives in ambiguity. You must be able to drive high-level design decisions and also roll up your sleeves to configure, troubleshoot, and deliver. You will anticipate bottlenecks, make tradeoffs between business timelines and technical constraints, and own outcomes end to end.

Key job responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain SD-Access manufacturing networks (underlay, overlay, fabric roles, wireless)
  • Own network builds for new sites end to end: requirements gathering, high-level and low-level design, equipment procurement, staging, deployment, and customer turnover
  • Operate and maintain production networks across multiple manufacturing and R&D sites
  • Develop and maintain automation for network provisioning, configuration management, and change execution (Python, Ansible, or equivalent)
  • Support real-time and OT use cases including machine vision, PTP timing, and industrial control traffic on the same fabric
  • Partner with product and R&D engineering teams to translate their connectivity requirements into network designs
  • Contribute to the network reference architecture and maintain documentation and runbooks
  • Mentor junior engineers and support engineers on networking best practices
