Job summary

Zentro is seeking a Network Deployment Technician, Level I, in Los Angeles to support our Residential and Commercial MDU construction efforts. You will participate in the day-to-day build-out, operation, and maintenance of customer services on-site.

Responsibilities include installing network infrastructure, racking equipment, testing copper cables, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This is a field position requiring occasional overtime and on-call availability.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Trade school education is a plus.
• Experience in telecom, construction, or network service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Construct network infrastructure facilities to company standards and specifications at the direction of the Lead Network Deployment Technician.
• Build out closets and dress bundles of cables in closet, with direction of Lead.
• Install racks/brackets, with the direction of the Lead.
• Physically install network equipment (racking and stacking).
• Review, interpret and work with cut sheets, drawings, blueprints and testing documents.
• Constructing & setting antenna mounts.
• Accurately test copper cables to required certification.
• Physically install Cat3, Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6A Structured Cable Distribution Systems.
• Installation of Network wall jack/plate, pulling cable, fire stopping and pre-termination; organize, dress and label cables.
• Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference.
• Maintain and reference ANSI, EIA/TIA and local Low Voltage Code standards.
• Adhere to the On-Call Schedule.

Role Overview

The Network Deployment Technician, as part of the Field Operations team, plays a crucial role in Zentro’s success by supporting our Residential and Commercial MDU Construction efforts. The Network Deployment Technician is responsible for the day-to-day build-out, operation, and maintenance of Zentro’s Residential and Commercial customer services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Constructs network infrastructure facilities to company standards and specifications at the direction of the Lead Network Deployment Technician
• Ability to build out closets and dress bundles of cables in closet, with direction of Lead
• Able to install racks/brackets, with the direction of the Lead
• Physical instillation of network equipment (racking and stacking)
• Reviews, interprets and works with various cut sheets, drawings, blueprints and testing documents
• Constructing & setting antenna mounts.
• Accurately test copper cables to the required certification
• Physically install Cat3, Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 6A Structured Cable Distribution Systems
• Installation of Network wall jack/plate, pulling cable, fire stopping and pre-termination, including organizing, forming, dressing and labeling cables to industry standards
• Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference
• Maintain and reference industry standards, including ANSI,EIA/TIA and local and Low Voltage Code
• Must be able to adhere to the On-Call Schedule

Skills and Qualifications

• Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Trade School is a plus
• Experience
  • Previous experience in a related or similar technical field. Telecom, construction, network service provided experience preferred
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to drive to office and job sites
  • Hold and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Able to pass drug screening and background check
  • Possess a high level of independent judgment within established procedures
  • Ability to read, review, interpret and understand technical documents
  • Ability to work varying shifts and hours including: possible mandatory overtime, weekends, nights and holidays
  • Working knowledge of using hand and power tools
  • Ability to work respectively with others and work independently
  • Ability to complete designated amount of work in a specified time frame (quality jobs per day), adjusting work assignments or schedules to meet changing work-related priorities or demands
  • Ability to climb and work at elevations from (ladders, poles, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet
  • Ability to work in confined spaces (attics, crawl spaces, utility holes)
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 70 pounds
  • Ability to perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather)

Compensation

• $26-$31/hour, depending on skill and experience

Schedule

• M-F 7am-4pm, on-call rotation, and any necessary adjustments as needed
• This is a field work position
