Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Network Automation Engineer (Infrastructure Engineering Senior Advisor) to automate and improve enterprise network operations. You will develop automation solutions using Python, Django, REST APIs, and infrastructure-as-code within an Agile environment.

You will collaborate with network engineers, developers, and QA teams to reduce manual tasks, enhance change accuracy, and prevent incidents while contributing to AI initiatives and automated testing in CI/CD

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of Python development experience.
• 3+ years of DevOps experience.
• Strong Python-based network automation experience.
• Experience with Django and Django REST Framework.
• Experience building end-to-end CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
• Experience with Ansible and related configuration tools.
• Experience with Linux in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Git and version control.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience integrating REST and SOAP APIs.
• Experience with automated testing tools (Selenium, pytest, Postman).
• Experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with modern web technologies (Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML5).
• Experience with AI frameworks and prompts.
• Experience with Itential or similar automation tools.
• Experience parsing network device output (Regex, TextFSM).
• Networking knowledge (routing, switching, firewalls) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build automation solutions with network engineers to reduce manual tasks.
• Develop network automation using Python.
• Build and support REST APIs with Python, Django, DRF.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code with automated testing and docs.
• Integrate automated testing into build and deployment pipelines.
• Maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines.
• Use Jenkins, Ansible, Git, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Create Ansible Playbooks and support configuration management.
• Maintain CI tools and support code releases.
• Assist AI initiatives within network organization.
• Document standards, designs, and automation processes.
• Work in Agile/Scrum, participate in ceremonies.
• Work with APIs, JSON, CRUD, and device outputs.
• Continually learn new technologies to improve automation.
