Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a highly skilled network engineering professional to design and engineer large-scale data and telecommunications networks for service providers. You will work across IP networking, routing and switching, MPLS, Carrier Ethernet, optical networking, and automation to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.

You will participate in PoC labs, evaluate emerging networking technologies, and collaborate with operations to ensure performance, security, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Progressive network engineering experience within a service-provider/ISP/telecommunications environment.
• Experience designing and engineering large-scale data networks.
• Experience with carrier-class networking platforms such as Cisco ASR.
• Strong experience with Cisco IOS XR and/or IOS.
• Experience with network automation and scripting.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer large-scale data and telecommunications networks.
• Participate in proof-of-concept labs and evaluate emerging networking solutions.
• Work with network operations teams to ensure infrastructure meets performance, configuration, and security standards.
• Support pre-sales engineering activities and customer technical engagement.
• Create network diagrams, technical documentation, solution briefs, and engineering reports.
• Produce equipment Bills of Materials and contribute to capital budgeting.
• Support RFP, RFI, RFQ, and other technical proposal processes.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams on complex network projects.
