As a Senior Network Engineer, you will bring your years of experience and expertise to propel the team to success and will be a pivotal member of a team that drives work forward within the program. The work is hands‑on and requires engineers that can work with limited guidance; that said, the Senior NE will provide technical guidance to junior engineers. You will support the creation and review of network designs, conduct hardware evaluations in a lab and with vendors. We are seeking a proactive candidate who will not shy away from writing a test plan or reading through vendor’s technical documents to solve a problem and write a resolution report.

Duties:
  • Create/modify network drawings, author system engineering documents and plans
  • Support design, test, and pre‑deployment readiness reviews
  • Support the network operations of the Production system
  • Provide the team with recommendations on modern engineering approaches and strategies to improve successful task order deployments
  • Develop, implement, and manage network engineering processes including configuration management and design standards to ensure contract compliance, technological relevancy, and sustainability
  • Perform capacity planning of the network by monitoring and analyzing network performance and availability
  • Proactively research and evaluate tools and technologies, as appropriate, to the network environment, while developing solutions to increase performance and lower the total cost of ownership
Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering (or similar technical field) and eight (8+) years relevant experience; Masters degree and six (6+) years of relevant experience; PhD with three (3+) years of experience. 12 years of relevant experience in the above‑cited duties may be substituted in lieu of a completed higher education degree
  • A current/valid IAT LVL III Certification (Security+ CE, CCNP, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, and CCSP)
  • Experience with the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure solutions for routing and switching of complex networks
  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting WAN topologies leveraging ethernet, T‑Carrier, and Optical Carrier circuits
  • Experience and understanding of networking fundamentals such as network protocols and common services (e.g., DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP)
  • Implementation and troubleshooting experience of networks using concepts/protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs and emerging concepts such as Software Defined Networking
  • Prior experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customer
  • An Engineering degree with a networking focus
  • Eight (8+) total years of experience in the architecture/design, development, and implementation of Wide Area Network (WAN) architecture
  • Exceptional verbal, written (including the development of CONOPS and procedural documentation), interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Experience using Python to automate routine network tasks
  • Understanding and experience with Software Defined Network (SDN) deployments
  • Juniper Enterprise Routing and Switching, Professional (JNCIP‑ENT)
  • Advanced Network monitoring and log analysis tool experience with the ability to deploy and improve the current deployments of these systems
  • Experience working in a telecommunications carrier environment performing mission critical network implementations
  • Self‑driven and resourceful in achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with others
  • Experience with application of DoD IAVAs, DISA STIGs, and NIST security controls
