Qualifications

Active Secret security clearance required.
Current DoD 8570 IAT level II (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent).
3+ years of related experience in network administration or similar.

Responsibilities

Job Description

GDIT is seeking an Network Administrator Senior to help support our upcoming Base Infrastructure Modernization (BIM) contract at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) in Southcentral, Alaska.

As a Network Administrator , you will join our team with responsibilities for the management and maintenance of site network devices. You will maintain network device configurations, troubleshoots performance and routing issues, supports engineers in the deployment and validation of patching and upgrades, and implements standard approved changes to ensure network system availability, performance, and security. You will provide analysis and monitoring of network infrastructure and network performance. You will also assist in proactive network monitoring, network management, and network infrastructure planning.

HOW A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Manages the functionality and efficiency of computer networks (LAN/WAN). Monitors data traffic/network performance and controls network resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission. Troubleshoots and resolves problems.
Collaborates directly with GDIT team leads and AF client on planning and procedures
Ability to operate under supervision
Execute day-to-day management and operations of systems and networks
Manage COTS & GOTS products to collect, display and remediate a variety of automated system security and system operations/performance functions and metrics
Follow Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists to maintain the service (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly O&M checklists); build Tactics, Techniques and Processes (TTPs) and Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) associated with service checklists
Operate monitoring tools/capabilities with the enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) and create/tailor complex event alarms/rules and summary reports
Assist in analyzing technical risk, upon request, of emerging cybersecurity tools and processes
Work as part of a security incident response team as needed
Maintains network to meet Enterprise Service Availability and Service Level Agreement requirements.
Utilizes IT Service Management (ITSM) Principles to identify, categorize, prioritize, elevate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents.
Maintains network security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.
Participates in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
Assists with the development of third-party monitoring actions and procedures for network infrastructure.
Participates in network software upgrades, moderations tasks and installs
Works after-hours and weekends during maintenance windows on-site as needed

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED - REQUIRED:

Security Clearance Level: Active Secret
Certification: Current DoD 8570 IAT level II (CompTIA Security+ CE or similar)
Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
Experience: 3+ years of related experience
Technical Skills:
- Experience working directly with hardware vendors involved in the incident resolution process.
- Provides Tier II support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
- Supports the timely escalation and communication of status to external and internal customers.
- Experience with various software systems and architectures, communications protocols: and network hardware devices.
- Experience with STIG patching, compliance, and other security activities
- NOC/SOC operations background – you've been in the trenches and know what works
- Incident management expertise with a track record of managing complex, multi-team responses
Skills and Abilities: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while still ensuring high quality of work.
