Job summary

Equity Bank is seeking a Network Administrator II to monitor, configure, and support our network infrastructure in Wichita, KS. The role focuses on reliability, security, and collaborative problem solving across bank teams and vendors.

You will implement security measures, manage voice and data networks, and participate in disaster recovery planning while maintaining a customer-focused service mindset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in area of specialty or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years’ experience supporting network technologies.
  • Familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Specific knowledge of CUCM, UCCX, and Cisco Unity.
  • Specific knowledge of network and edge security technologies; Palo Alto preferred.
  • Industry standard certifications such as CCNA and CCNP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain local and wide area networks for reliability and performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve network and security problems in hardware and software.
  • Analyze network efficiency with tests and diagnostics; monitor traffic and performance.
  • Implement and update security measures to protect data resources.
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to perform risk assessments and remediation.
  • Monitor and maintain voice communications system and related features.
  • Participate in Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery planning for network infra.
  • Adhere to safety rules, company policies, and professional conduct.

This individual will monitor, configure and support the Company’s network infrastructure. Provide professional technical services and support Bank team members. Ensure appropriate knowledge and expertise in both standard industry technologies and bank specific systems and solutions. Ensure customer satisfaction by providing concise communications and building high quality relationships.

Specific Duties Include:
  • Monitor and maintain the Company’s local and wide area network to insure reliability and performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve network and network security problems and concerns associated with network hardware and software.
  • Analyze network efficiency by conducting network tests and running diagnostics to forecast performance thresholds. Monitors and reports on network traffic, usage, and performance.
  • Implement, maintain and update security measures to ensure the integrity of institutional data resources and prevent unauthorized access to network systems.
  • Work with vendors and internal resources to conduct regular risk assessments and remediate all identified network security, performance, and capacity risks. Conduct network vulnerability tests and perform periodic security audits and assessments.
  • Monitor and maintain the Company’s voice communications system.
  • Ensure uninterrupted access to all voice telecommunication features, including voicemail and Contact Center systems.
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery methods for the network infrastructure in conjunction with overall company Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery plan.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of the Bank.
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in area of specialty or equivalent experience
  • At least 4 years’ experience supporting network technologies
  • Familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Specific knowledge of (CUCM) Cisco Unified Communications Manager, (UCCX) Cisco Unified Contact Center Express, and Cisco Unity.
  • Specific knowledge of network and edge security technologies and best practices, Palo Alto preferred.
  • Industry standard certifications such as: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing, walking, bending, and squatting on a regular basis. May require the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or reach with hands and arms. Requires the ability to carry, lift, move or push up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. Must be able to talk and listen to others.

Work Environment

This position regularly works in an office setting. Most of the job duties require the employee to be working with computers and electronic media on a regular basis.
