Qualifications

Description

General Purpose

The Network Administer oversees the entire network infrastructure and gives strategic planning efforts, capacity planning, functional and technical design of enterprise systems and resolution of complex problems.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, configures, and monitors the operation of the organizations local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN).
  • Administer routers, switches, firewalls, VOIP systems, to include firmware, OS updates, and security updates and patches.
  • Administers servers, hypervisors, SAN's, VDI environment, and other ancillary systems, to include firmware, OS updates, and security updates and patches.
  • Performs troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs/fixes for network hardware and software related problems.
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation.
  • Helps evaluates vendor products in hardware, software and telecommunications equipment and recommends purchases consistent with the Bank's short and long-term objectives.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
Other Duties/Responsibilities
  • Works closely with other Network Administrators, the entire IT department, multiple outside departments, Alpine employees, and software vendors.
  • Work closely with vendors' support personnel to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete training to stay current on recent technology.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • High overall technical knowledge of IT systems.
  • Handles complex issues and problems with only referring the most complex issues to higher lever teams.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking with ability to make decisions with minimum direct supervision.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of Project Management and the ability to meet required deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of routers, routing protocols, switches, HUBs, Infrastructure cabling both ethernet and fiber.
  • Working knowledge on Cisco, MS-Server, Virtualization, DNS, LDAP, MS Directory Services, and VDI technologies.
  • General knowledge on network monitoring and tuning tools, firewall management, wireless technologies, network access management and VOIP technologies.
  • Ability to complete complex projects with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork ethics, a willingness to be active in department and bank functions, help with projects, and exhibit a positive attitude.

Education or Formal Training:

BA/BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Driver's License is required.

Experience:

3+ years in information technology.
Experience in Cisco, VMware, Microsoft server and Microsoft Active Directory preferred.

Working Conditions

Working Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Travel to conferences, meetings and branch locations on a regular basis may be necessary. Additional requirements include disaster recovery testing and occasional system updates on weekends or evenings. On-call after hours and weekend support when scheduled.
