Responsibilities
- Manage the functionality and efficiency of computer networks (LAN/WAN).
- Monitor data traffic and network performance, controlling resources to ensure high-quality transmission.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Collaborate directly with GDIT team leads and the AF client on planning and procedures.
- Operate under supervision to execute day-to-day management and operations of systems and networks.
- Manage COTS and GOTS products to collect, display, and remediate automated system security and performance metrics.
- Follow Operations and Maintenance checklists to maintain service daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly; build Tactics, Techniques and Processes (TTPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for service checklists.
- Operate monitoring tools with SIEM, creating and tailoring event alarms, rules, and summary reports.
- Assist in analyzing technical risk of emerging cybersecurity tools and processes upon request.
- Work as part of a security incident response team as needed.
- Maintain network to meet Enterprise Service Availability and Service Level Agreement requirements.
- Utilize IT Service Management (ITSM) principles to identify, categorize, prioritize, and resolve incidents.
- Maintain network security and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Participate in developing and implementing network-related procedures and standards.
- Interface with vendors to resolve network outages or performance issues.
- Assist with the development of third‑party monitoring actions and procedures for network infrastructure.
- Participate in network software upgrades, moderation tasks, and installations.
- Work after‑hours and weekends during maintenance windows on‑site as needed.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Current DoD 8570 IAT level II/8140 equivalent (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).
- Technical training, certification(s), or degree.
- 1+ years of related experience.
- Experience with hardware vendors for incident resolution; Tier II support for problem identification and resolution.
- Experience with various software systems, architectures, communications protocols, and network hardware devices.
- Experience with STIG patching, compliance, and other security activities.
- NOC/SOC operations background.
- Incident management expertise with a track record of managing complex, multi‑team responses.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and multi‑task while maintaining high quality.
Desired Qualifications
- ITIL V3/4 Foundation or higher.
- DoD 8140 certifications (e.g., CASP+, CCNA Security, CCNP Security, CCSP, GCED, GCIA, GCLD, CISA, CISSP, GSLC).
