Job summary

Arena Technical Resources, LLC (ATR) is seeking a Network Administrator to support a federal client in defense of homeland security. You will implement and maintain network infrastructure, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure performance, availability, and security.

The role includes providing technical leadership to junior engineers. Active Secret clearance and US citizenship are required, with 7+ years of relevant experience in network configuration and monitoring, including firewall setups

Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • US citizenship is required; dual citizens not considered.
  • Seven or more years of experience as a Network Administrator or in a related field.
  • Five or more years in network configuration and monitoring.
  • Firewall configuration experience (Palo Alto, Juniper, etc.).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and NetCool.
  • Must be able to travel within office/data center environments and perform on-call duties.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize throughput and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues using firewall logs and packet capture tools; coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct capacity planning and bandwidth management for future growth.
  • Integrate network infrastructure with cloud services, storage systems, and other IT components.
  • Stay updated on networking trends and best practices and recommend adoption as appropriate.
  • Create and maintain documentation for configurations, diagrams, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.
  • Manage, monitor, maintain, and secure networks and tenant segments for data transport.
  • Organize and manage delivery of network load balancing services.
  • Document and manage Internet Protocol Addresses.

Job Description: Seeking a Network Administrator to provide expertise to
a federal client in support of their mission critical systems in defense
of our Homeland.

As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for implementing and
maintaining our organization's network infrastructure. Your role will
involve overseeing network administration, troubleshooting complex
issues, and ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our
network systems.

Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal throughput and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues using firewall logs, switch packet capture tools; engaging with cross-functional teams to leverage support and collaboration when necessary.
  • Conduct network capacity planning and bandwidth management to accommodate future growth and changing business needs.
  • Collaborate with other teams to integrate network infrastructure with cloud services, storage systems, and other IT components.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in networking and recommend their adoption as appropriate.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to network configurations, diagrams, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior network engineers.
  • Managing, monitoring, maintaining, and securing networks and tenant network segments that integrate the transport of networks and data.
  • Organizing, documenting, and managing the delivery of Network load balancing services.
  • Document and Manage Internet Protocol Addresses.
Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Due to contract requirements, only US Citizens can be considered. Candidates with dual citizenship cannot be considered.
  • Seven (7)+ years of experience in a Network Administrator role or in a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in the following:
    • Network configuration and monitoring.
    • Firewall configuration - palo alto, juniper, etc.
    • Network monitoring tools - SolarWinds and NetCool.
  • Candidates must be able to move throughout office and data center environments, including frequent walking, standing, and navigating between work locations. Must be able to occasionally lift and move equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds and perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Candidates must reside within a commutable distance for daily onsite work and on-call requirements.
  • This contract supports systems that require 24x7x365 uptime. Candidates must be willing and able to meet recall requirements, including participation in a rotational on-call schedule.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • DHS Suitability.
